Zakary Champion, 23, of Deltona, Florida, was injured during a fight near Woodruff Park in downtown Atlanta on July 15 and died on July 24 at Grady Memorial Hospital. Josua Martinez was charged with murder, aggravated battery and aggravated assault. According to Champion’s Facebook page, he was a student at Valencia College in Orlando, Florida. In his last public post on May 9, he requested donations to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline for his birthday. “I’ve chosen this nonprofit because their mission means a lot to me,” he wrote.
