Police believe Mitchell was shot after he was seen trying to steal a man’s car on Candler Road, according to FOX 5. The alleged shooter, identified as Josiah Gilbert, reportedly looked out of his apartment window, saw Mitchell breaking into his car and shot him in the back of the head, police said. Mitchell was taken to the hospital, and died after four days in critical condition. Gilbert was arrested and charged in connection with the death. Police said Gilbert should have called 911 instead of allegedly taking matters into his own hands.
